The Regina building was built in 1921 at Søndergade 53, where Frichs was located until it moved to Åbyhøj in 1919.
In the center of the building was the Regina Theater cinema.
The building also housed a hotel, restaurant, shops and offices.
Kaufmann was among the first shops in the building in 1921 – and is still there.
When the cinema closed in 1983, the arcade with 19 shops was created through a redevelopment.

The building is now being rebuilt from the first floor upwards.
The commercial leases will be converted into 27 luxury apartments with a beautiful multi-level courtyard environment where the terraces are landscaped with PavePad.
