Sustainable production and reuse of plastic

We recycle residual and disassembled products into new products

Circular economy in stead of plastic in the oceans

Excellent Systems has been a frontrunner in the fight for a better environment, sustainable production, and the recycling of plastic for many years.

Back in 1992, we reorganized our production so the cooling water from our production machines is now recycled for heating of our office buildings.

When our products are no longer being used by our clients, or they are worn down, we offer to collect them and regenerate them into new granulate. This, of course, also goes for excess plastic from our production. Thereby, we ensure that our production is a circular economy and that the plastic in the world’s oceans does not originate from us!

Produced in Denmark with environmentally friendly PE

All PaveSystem products are made from non-toxic Polyethylene (PE). It is the same type of plastic that can be found on the inside of milk cartons.

We manufacture all PE products at our factory in DK-8544 Moerke. Thereby, we have full control over the quality of our products, we ensure safe and healthy work conditions, and use only food-approved, completely non-toxic raw materials and dyes.

PE products are acid-resistant, corrosion-free, and can withstand all types of common cleaning detergents.

UN SDGs - 5 goals, we are working on

We share responsibility for the health and well-being of our employees and take this very seriously. That is why we have taken out health insurance and pension insurance for our team. Strengthening general health and well-being at work is a top priority for us – including daily morning gymnastics and various social events. We also financially support the Red Cross, the Danish Cancer Society and the Danish Hospital Clowns.

At Excellent Systems A/S, we ensure that women and men have the same rights and opportunities and, of course, have zero tolerance for bullying and sexual harassment. We make it a priority to prevent any form of discrimination and violence in our company and to provide expert guidance, help and support should the need arise.

Our production is so efficient because we use robots for the heaviest lifting and many repetitive movements, thus reducing the workload on the labor force and making the work more gentle. We are also working on the use of exo-skeletons for the most demanding tasks. We have always had a strong focus on being able to accommodate people in e.g. Fleksjob, which is why we currently have 3 employees working under this scheme for the benefit of them, society and us.

SDG 12 is an integral part of Excellent Systems’ DNA. We have been working according to the principle of circular economy for our own products since 1992 and have managed to recycle our end-of-life products in a sustainable process instead of incinerating or landfilling them. All with a strong focus on using as little unnecessary CO2 as possible. At the factory, we sort the waste so that we do not send more to landfill than an average household in Denmark.

UN SDGs - We strive to achieve in the coming years

We focus on improving accessibility for people with motor impairments and walking disabilities and helping them participate on an equal footing with everyone else in the workplace and in public spaces.

We are continuously working to make our products less harmful to the environment and welcome closer cooperation with local authorities in countries to collect end-of-life products as part of our efforts to recycle end-of-life products. This reduces the environmental impact on private and public institutions. At the same time, our products create better access to green and public spaces for people with motor impairments.

The UN has set 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that countries and businesses must work to protect and improve the lives of people, animals and the planet’s resources. The goals are set to 2030 where the various institutions are working to achieve.

We have chosen to focus on 4 of the 17 SDGs, but are continuously working to achieve the other SDGs both directly and indirectly. Our belief is that we have a responsibility to reduce the footprint on natural resources and improve lives locally and globally.

We focus on spreading accessibility for people with motor and walking impairments and are instrumental in enabling them to participate on an equal footing with everyone else, both in the workplace and in the public space as a whole.

We are continuously working to make our products less environmentally harmful and would appreciate a closer collaboration with municipalities around the country to collect end-of-life products as part of our efforts to reuse end-of-life products to reduce the environmental impact on private and public institutions and improve universal access to green and public spaces for people with motor impairments.

Less packaging means less waste

When we ship tile crosses, tile feet or LAR equipment out of the house, through production changes we have been able to save large amounts of packaging by replacing cardboard boxes with colored strips. This has a number of benefits for our customers: They get less cardboard waste. Strips rather than boxes make the products lighter and easier to handle on site, and the colored strips make each PavePad size easy to identify. In addition, the smaller packaging allows for 25% more space on a pallet, so you can get more products on one delivery and we save CO2 on shipping.
