PaveDrain®

Environmentally friendly drainage of rainwater from your terrace, driveway, or pavement

Avoid puddles on your pavement with local rainwater drainage

PaveDrain is specially developed spacers for local rainwater drainage. PaveDrain goes under the category of permeable pavement. It means that you avoid surface water that gathers on your terrace, your driveway, tile path, or other pavement. PaveDrain allows the water to seep down between the tiles into the underground. PaveDrain is a spacer for tile pavement with open joints. The spacer functions as support and strengthening of the open 20 mm joint so the paving is controlled, held together, and uniform. Thus, you easily ensure drainage for rainwater, along with a beautiful and uniform overall impression of your pavement.

Receive up to 40% reimbursement of your connection fee

If you are planning to use PaveDrain, it can be a good idea to explore the options for a reimbursement of part of the connection fee to your municipal sewer system.

By draining excess water and rainwater directly from your land to the underground you are not taxing the municipal sewer systems. Therefore, in some places, you can be reimbursed for your connection fee by using local rainwater drainage. Not all municipalities offer this. However, in some cases, up to 40% of your fee is reimbursed.

It is only authorized professionals, e.g. sewer masters, who are allowed to disconnect sewer systems. Contact your local municipality official for more information about your options.

How PaveDrain works

PaveDrain is referred to as permeable pavement. It means that the joint size between the tiles is at a minimum of 10% of the entire pavement. It ensures optimal possibilities for excess water and rainwater to seep down. The function of PaveDrain lies in the interaction with the correct underground material. The underground material is a base layer of pebble, which is divided into multiple layers with the coarsest layer at the bottom. Then comes a middle layer and a screed. The screed, which is the finest, is a part of the joint material. Sand is not used in this type of construction. You can calculate how many PaveDrain you need for your project here.

The bottom of permeable pavement functions as a rainwater reservoir and can, therefore, absorb volumes from cloudbursts. Consequently, the pavement is quick to dry and you avoid puddles. There is no need for a slope with this type of pavement. For the correct installation, the interaction between stone and joint dimension should be 10-14% open surface for traffic class T2.

The environmentally friendly and non-toxic solution

• PaveDrain is manufactured of Polyethylene High-Density plastic, also known as PEHD. This type of plastic is 100% non-toxic and gentle for the environment

• You can learn more about PEHD here, as well as how we work with reusing worn out products through circular economy.

PEHD can also endure heavy traffic from cars and trucks without breaking. Consequently, you can easily use PaveDrain in e.g. your driveway. Additionally, PaveDrain is resistant to temperatures from +100 °C down to -50 °C.

Get started with PaveDrain

• Before you start your tiling project, it may be a good idea to consider what you will primarily use your covering for: Is it a terrace to walk on, or will there be heavy traffic? Take a look at ours Gallery for PaveDrain, and get inspired here.

Once you have the dimensions for your project, it can still be difficult to figure out how many spacers you need to use for the project. We have made it easy for you to calculate with our PaveDrain calculator. Click here to enter and calculate, how many PaveDrains your project needs.

Information about the different PaveDrain

PaveDrain T

PaveDrain T spacers

Height 35 mm and 48 mm

Thickness 10 mm

Field of application: PaveDrain T spacers are used for granite, marble, sandstone, brick, concrete tiles, and paving stones in general. Can also be used in brickwork, half brickwork pattern, as well as finishing a straight-lined pattern’s outer areas.

Purpose: For diagonal strength (torsional strength), increases load capacity regarding traffic, combines and locks paving area for a uniformity joint distance.

Intention: Used to protect paving against broken corners and edges (crunch) and strengthens the entire pavement area against sliding (diagonal influences) in light to heavy traffic. PaveDrain T spacers ease the paving work with simple use and ensures a uniform joint width that preserves the intended look. PaveSystem’s products are frost-proof and can be recycled.

Quantity: More than 1 piece per tile. Precise number is to be calculated on individual projects. See our calculator here. Average of 1-3 pieces per tile.

PaveDrain X

PaveDrain X spacers
